Hello friends! My name is Shital, and today I want to share my Holi experience of 2025. This year’s Holi was so much fun and full of colors, music, and happiness. I had been waiting for this festival for a long time, and it was even more exciting than I imagined!
On the morning of Holi, I woke up early and heard children laughing and music playing outside. Everyone was getting ready to celebrate. I wore old clothes because I knew they would get covered in colors. When I stepped outside, someone gently put red color on my face and said, “Happy Holi!” I laughed and felt very happy. Then I met my friends, and we started throwing colors at each other. There were red, yellow, green, blue, and pink colors everywhere. The streets looked like a big rainbow!
I walked to Basantapur, and it was so lively. People were dancing, singing, and playing with colors. Some children had small water balloons, and some adults had water guns called pichkaris. Everyone was laughing when they got wet and colorful. Even strangers were kind and wished me a happy Holi. It felt like the whole city was one big family.
After playing with colors for a long time, I felt hungry. Holi is also about delicious food. I ate sel roti, aloo achar, and a sweet called gujiya. It was so tasty and gave me energy to play more. I also saw many people sharing food with their friends and neighbors.
One of the best parts of Holi is that people play with respect. They ask before putting colors on someone. This makes everyone feel safe and happy. I liked that very much because it shows friendship, kindness, and love.
By the afternoon, I was covered in colors from head to toe. My hair was pink and green, my face was red and yellow, and my clothes were full of colors. Even though I was tired, I was very happy. Walking through the streets, I saw children laughing, families playing, and everyone enjoying together.
Holi is also a festival that teaches us about love, friendship, and unity. Everyone celebrates together, shares happiness, and forgets sadness. I felt lucky to be part of this festival in 2025. It made me realize how beautiful Nepalese culture is.
At the end of the day, I went home tired but very happy. My clothes were messy, my face was colorful, but my heart was full of joy. My Holi experience of 2025 will stay in my memory forever. I hope everyone can celebrate Holi in Nepal at least once. It is full of fun, colors, music, and happiness
