    Annapurna Sanctuary Trek difficulty

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a moderate trek. The trail has many ascents & descents. Even though Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 15 days is one of the beginner-friendly treks in the Himalayas, there are a few difficult sides to this trek as well. First of all, the long, 6-7 walking hours, each day means the trekker has to be fit and in good health.

Second, the remoteness of the Annapurna regional and trekking route makes the services along the way very limited. Living more than a week without modern comforts may not be something for everyone. So, while booking the trek, try keeping a few weeks on hand to prepare for the journey.

You do not have to do any advanced training for the Annapurna Sanctuary trek. Simple short hikes and cardio will be enough. Your goal should be to increase your stamina and walking hours.

Altitude Sickness during the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek has lower elevation than other similar treks, however the gain in elevation is quite quick. In 5 to 6 days, you'll reach over 4,130 meters, and it is a huge elevation change. Therefore, selecting the right villages to stop is crucial to acclimate your body as you move further and stay away from altitude sickness.

Our Annapurna Sanctuary Trek itinerary is perfectly designed to allow trekkers to enjoy the trek at the same time provide ample acclimatization opportunities without them noticing. Headache, insomnia, no appetite, nausea, breathing problems, etc are some of the common symptoms of altitude sickness.

Do not drink alcohol or smoke while trekking. It'll lead your body to dehydration, which increases the risks of altitude sickness. With that being said, drink plenty of water every day.
