Useful Information

Bandipur

On this tour, you will visit the village of Bandipur. Bandipur is untouched by modernization. You will be able to see antique houses, traditional temples, and cultural sites. One of the things to do in Bandipur is to stroll around the scenic streets and view the century-old houses.

You can wander around Bandipur without feeling lost. As you walk, you will be awed by the colorful Newari architectural houses, which are covered with flowering vines. The ancient Newari houses, with their unique brickwork and wood carvings, will make you feel like you are walking across a museum that is displaying the indigenous Newari culture.

Hiking to Ramkot village is another popular activity. On the hike to Ramkot village, you will witness the true beauty of Bandipur as you walk along the mountain ridges. You will have a view of green rice fields, and in the distance, the mesmerizing view of the Himalayas says hello. Since the village is inhabited by the Newari community, you will get the taste of local Newari food like Samay Bhaji and Choila.

Dhampus

Dhampus is a traditional Gurung village. This village offers tourists an opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the ethnic group of the Gurung community. This is a popular halt point for tourists doing treks in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The main source of income for the inhabitants is from the tourism industry.

In the Annapurna region, Dhampus hill is one of the most stunning viewpoints in Nepal, which makes this hiking route ideal. In addition to the outstanding view of Pokhara from Dhampus, the landscape gets even more picturesque as the sunsets. Hiking to Dhampus is one of the most popular things to do in Pokhara.

The hike begins in Phedi, located 30 minutes from Pokhara Valley's lakeside, where the hike begins uphill. As you move higher, you get to witness stunning views and breathtaking scenery. When you leave the lush greenery of the jungle, you will have a short hike to reach Dhampus. There is an excellent view of Mt. Machhapuchhare and the Annapurna Himalayan Range. Commonly known as fishtail mountain (6,993 m), Machhapuchhre resembles the shape of a fish’s tail.

As you travel to the villages of Bandipur and Dhampus, you will only be able to see authentic Nepal. You must travel to the villages and experience the lifestyle of the people there. The people in the villages are humble and greet you with a warm welcome.

  • Nepal Dream TRavel is a dream come true!

Nepal Dream Travel really is a dream come true! We’ve booked two trips with Nepal Dream and both have been outstanding experiences. Nepal is a beautiful country with friendly, warm hearted people who want to share their culture with you. Our guide (and now friend), Bishnu Acharya, is extremely knowledgeable about his country and its different regions. Everywhere we went Bishnu helped us engage with the local people and learn about their customs which made both our trips memorable. Nepal Dream is also extremely flexible with travel plans. Sunita Sharma is a miracle worker and was able to change our itinerary at the last minute to accommodate staying in Kathmandu an extra day since our luggage was lost by the airline. Everyone at Nepal Dream is very professional, but they also treat you like family and make you feel very comfortable while you’re on tour with them. Nepal Dream Travel has my highest recommendation and I hope you will consider booking your dream trip with them soon!
