Memorial Chorten:The memorial chorten is one of the most visible landmarks of Thimphu, built in 1974 to honor the memory of third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk , from here drive to the Tallest sitting Budhha inkuenasle phodrang .Form here drive to Folk Heritage museum. Also your lunch will be served at the folk heritage restaurant to taste authentic Bhutanese cuisine.
After lunch sight seeing will cover Pangri zampa astrogical school ,chokio handicraft . its around 20 min drive from main thimphu town to pangri zampa astrogical school . Here the monk can also read your palmistry.
Evening is free to stroll around or you can drink a nice cup of Bhutanese tea at your hotel.
After Breakfast, start drive for 3hrs / 77 km, through a forest of pine and hemlock, festooned with hanging lichens high up Dochula pass /Alt:10142ft, this pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges, as we descend along a series of curve road to the fertile valley of Punakha / Alt: 4430ft. Before proceeding further to Punakha town, we will take a short 45 Minutes walk to Chimi Lakhang Temple on a small hill top. This temple is dedicated to the great yogi in 14th century known as Drukpa Kuenly or popularly known as “Divine Madman” Over night at Punakha.
Morning 1 hr river rafting in Punakha River. Afterwards a visit to Punakha Dzong or, the “Palace of Great Happiness,” situated between the Pho Chu and Mo Chu(male & female) rivers.
Resume your drive back to paro . check in the hotel and after refreshment drive to the paro museum and paro dzong . from paro dzong you can walk down to the cantilever bridge . walk to the bridge to the paro town . it’s a beautiful walk ,maybe you will be able to see a archery match going on nearby ground .
Get ready for a hike up the mountains to visit “Tiger’s Nest” an iconic temple considered most sacred. Enjoy a thrilling 1 hour mountain path by pony and another hour of hiking to reach this beautiful monastery. The most famous monastery in Bhutan. Takshang means “Tiger Nest” so named because Guru Rinpoche reportedly flew to the site on the back of a flying tiger late in the 7th century. Between blue pines and a blue sky, the monastery perches miraculously on a cliff nearly 2,700feet above Paro’s valley floor
